Osprey Nest Platform
Description
We applied for a permit to build this platform in 2018, hoping to attract a mating couple by spring 2019. This nest in on the south side of the Piankatank River where Ferry Creek flows into the river. We "seeded" the platform with sticks last summer to make it more attractive. My critter cam shows a pair arriving around March 10. They are actively adding to the nest, mating, defending their territory and it almost seems like the female is incubating, though it seems early for this.

We're feeling pretty good about getting a couple in our first season of offering this platform. I saw the male mating with the female multiple times over the weekend.
