The nest is on a utility pole on Sixth Ave. between Memorial Drive and Main Street. It is on Riley Park near the train station. Sticks and branches can be observed strewn on the sidewalk. Construction has just begun.
On my way from the post office i heard the high pitched whistling sound of an osprey. I looked up and sure enough, an osprey was sitting in the beginnings of a new nest! The sidewalk was scattered with twigs and branches. A neighbor in a third story apartment hung out the window as I photographed the nest and remarked that they hoped to keep it a secret. This was the first warm day (about 80 degrees) after a long winter. I am posting here to make it possible for the bird(s) to have a successful nest. I will follow up periodically.
