Nesting Diaries

3 healthy chicks banded on July 2nd. One chick had to be taken to a wildlife preserve as it was tangled in binder twine used as nesting material by the adults. It recovered fine and was returned to the nest early August. All have since fledged and are flying well.

Marsha, A36, was not happy about the chicks being banded, she kept buzzing the cherry picker and came very close to the fellows working.

The male has not been a on the hydro pole across the street often. He was there quite often but seems to be absent often or in the best with the Mrs and chicks

Apr 23rd I observed the female eating on a hydro pole on country road 18 just around the corner from the nest.
