Around 10am on Saturday, September 7th, was the last time the osprey were seen on the nest cam. Fly free, safe travels, hope to see you in the spring.

One bird on the nest as I drove past.

3 healthy chicks were banded on July 2nd. Can never tell when eggs are laid or when incubation begins, eggs hatch, etc due to no camera and it being so high up.

08/27/2019 by Casha
During the summer I believe there were two adults and one baby.

04/07/2019 by Casha

Birds in the nest! Awesome to get to meet some new admirers, too!! :)

Birds must have left for the season. None observed during the past 3 weeks.

There was a bird on the nest as I passed by early in the morning.

This is probably the same nest I saw on my way to Belwood lake. I observed for 10 minutes a lone female sitting on the nest. She was calling out loudly, probably protesting our presence. Didn't see any obvious signs of chicks in the nest; it is worth another visit in couple of weeks to confirm.

Last year the nest was moved and elevated by Hydro crews and was abandoned. Yesterday there was a female osprey sitting in the nest.

02-Apr-15 Alternative "nest" proved false. No birds yet

Now leaves are off the trees in the area, an alternative nest may have been spotted. Will confirm on next trip past.

Nest empty

I travel past this area weekly, usually on a Friday afternoon and saw an active nest in the spring. There was hydro or phone maintenance in the area, and when I next went past the nest on Aug 8, 2014, there was a new pole and a platform, but no evidence of birds.
