Description
In April two ospreys returned to their nest in a pine tree by Cabin Point Creek but about 10 days later the tree blew down during a storm and became wedged in a smaller tree closer to the ground. The nest was still intact but it was apparently difficult for the osprey to get into their old nest as branches were blocking them. So, they decided to build a nest on our sailboat which is about 70 yards away.

Nesting Diaries

As of June 17, there are no eggs left in the nest and no sign of how they disappeared. The adults returned to the nest for a few days and kept rearranging the twigs and debris but then spent the night in a nearby tree. They never stayed long at the nest anymore.

As of June 2, there is now only one egg in the nest. We don't know what happened - no sign of broken egg shells.
