We've not seen much activity at this nest, lately. It sits pretty far off of the road and is hard to see though.... Keeping out hope for activity.

The nest on the utility tower was taken down last year, but someone put up an osprey platform behind the substation. The pair had one chick last year that fledged. We have seen a bird there once this year, but didn't have the binoculars with us to validate it as an osprey. So far, no activity.

This nest had been completely torn down over the Winter. The Osprey pair started to rebuild, but didn't get very far before either the wind we got or humans tore the nest apart. They have since, in just a little over a week, built it back up and it now looks pretty sturdy. We worried after it had disappeared in late April early May that they had gone elsewhere. But with the new rebuilt nest, there has been an osprey incubating for about a week now. We're hoping all is okay.

We were pleasantly surprised on 3/21/15 to see this pair has returned to their tower nest. It was completely torn down by someone or the weather, at the end of last season. But they are in the process of rebuilding!

03/16/2015 by francie
As of 3/16/15 there is no activity and currently, there is no nest. Either someone has torn it down over the Winter or the wind blew it off of the tower. This pair was late arrivals last season, so we will have to see what happens.

We only saw the chick from this nest for a very short time. Since the nest is so high and so deep, we didn't see the chick until it had fledged. After that, we saw it twice perched on the tower and then, just as quickly, it was gone...never to be seen again.

We've been seeing 2 osprey on this nest, but since it's so far up, we can not tell if they are 2 chicks or one chick and one adult. It's just been recent that we can actually see an entire bird, other than the parent that was sitting on the edge of the nest for so long.

08/02/2014 by francie
Rode by today and we are definitely seeing a bird sitting in the nest. The first drive by, we could see the parent on the edge and a head in the nest. On the way back through, we saw only the head, but it is a little taller than it was on July 27, so it is growing!

07/27/2014 by francie
We are finally seeing the mother Osprey on the side of the nest and a head over the edge, so it looks like she has one chick. It may be growing well already, at this point. With the height of this tower, it's been hard to see anything until recently.

Still sitting on the side of the nest. This chick will be fledging before we see it, as high as this nest is.....

06/22/2014 by francie
Nothing new at this nest. Female is still sitting up on the side of the nest.

06/15/2014 by francie
I took a photo of the female on the side of the nest, got home, resized the photo and saw that the male was sitting on the pole next to the nest! This is such a tall tower!!

06/14/2014 by francie
Still only seeing the female on the side of this nest. Today, we went by several times and the last time, both parents were sitting on the edge of the nest.

06/06/2014 by francie
This female was sitting up on the side of the nest today, after several weeks of only her head showing. So we are saying she has chicks. It will be some time before we're able to see anything since this nest is so high.

05/24/2014 by francie
There is not much activity at this nest, so far. It's very high up, so it is very hard to tell.

05/17/2014 by francie
We can still see just the top of an osprey in this nest. Still looks like she may be incubating.

05/11/2014 by francie
We saw one osprey flying around this area, while the other was in the nest. It was sitting low, so she must be incubating.

05/03/2014 by francie
Saturday, there was an osprey in this nest, but we didn't see any activity Sunday. This nest is also further from water, though probably not as far as the osprey flies!

04/30/2014 by francie
A nest was started here late last year, but it was abandoned. We have just seen that it has been built right up! There was a pair of osprey in it on 4/30/2014. It's much higher than an osprey platform, so will be hard to watch.
