Nesting Diaries

Upon first observance could not see an osprey on the nest; but, after checking on Nest A again, returned to find someone home incubating.

Arrived to find 3 males flying about the nest ... there was no aggression, though the incubating female was not too impressed!

Male observed incubating while the female was perched on a nearby pole eating a fish :)

Arrived at sunup to find the male busy bringing in nesting material to their new digs. The female was leisurely standing by in a supervisory capacity :)

Arrived to find male bringing in nesting material and the female perched close by. This may be a new pairing as they are very late building up the nest as compared to nests A and B. The nest was completely lost over the Winter so they have much work to do. I did find them moments later perched together on a different utility pole.

Unfortunately this nest failed in 2013. The female was observed incubating on May 28th and June 15th, but returning on July 26th, the nest was found to be abandoned and there was no sign of the pair.
