Fledging is remaining at the nest; frequently observed calling out loudly from the antenna, and sometimes sitting in the nest and talking softly alone. No adults have been observed for weeks.
9:15 am: Lone adult perched above nest, pestered by a mockingbird, then 2. Assault continues causing the adult to leave and circle the nest. A head pops up and the nestling arises, standing as if to lend support. Mockingbirds leave, nestling settles back down.
Nestling has grown, now sitting at edge of nest looking out. Adult is perched above and behind; both are facing east-- away from the sun, appear to be contemplating fledging (today, tomorrow, soon).
9:30am: Female appears to be feeding nestlings while male perched on antenna above nest. (Female sitting on the north edge of nest, breaking up food and reaching into the nest.) No nestlings visible from ground level observation point.
