Description
This is one of my favorite nests. There is a tree that is hanging over the river, as it's at the very edge of a small bluff. There is so much potential for the tree falling, but this pair of osprey are rebulding their nest in this same spot on this sam

Nesting Diaries

Both osprey have recently arrived. I'd say a few days before March 17, St. Patrick's Day at the earliest. What I love about this nest is the location .... This nest is precariously hanging over the river is a tree that is so close to falling. I thought the tree might fall last year, but it is hanging on, hopefully for another successful year for this pair of osprey. The nest name, "Marley's Home" is dedicated to a friend's recently lost dog, Marley. Marley's Home is truly a sight to behold, as I'm sure anyone who loves the river would want to have the kind of view this pair enjoys. Osprey have incredible dexterity with their talons, but I doubt they could operate a fishing reel. If they could, though, and they had fishing rods, these osprey could drop a line straight down from their nest and catch catfish all day and all night. Good thing they can't operate a fishing reel, as they'd probably get too fat to fly south and join the pair that winter's over near Dutch Gap (about a mile to the west of this location).
