This nest has been populated by a nesting pair for many years. This year, in late June three fully fledged birds were observed. Today, I observed three birds on the nest. One brought a fish to the nest and the other two scattered. No feeding behavior was noted, and eventually all three flew off, and the one that caught the fish eventually ate it elsewhere. Unclear if this is a breeding pair and a fully fledged young bird, or maybe a bachelor pad with several young birds. Like nearby nests, this nest was subjected to severe high winds during three or four intense late spring storms in the area.
The nest is occupied by two adults and one is mainly sitting on the nest. We cannot see any chicks due to the height of the nest, but their behavior is consistent with nesting.
Bruce and Judy (our names for the parent Ospreys, successfully raised two chicks to reach their adult size and coloring and were observed feeding on their own in late August 2014
