One adult was sitting on the cell tower near the nest and crying to an adult flying overhead. I think they're the returning pair that nested here two years ago. The nest appears to be under construction with lots of sticks and branches on the tower and hanging down to the lower level.
Lately there has been no sign of either osprey. As far as I can tell from this distance, there is no beginnings of a nest on any level. However, last year they were late in building and successfully fledged two so I still have hopes they'll nest soon.
The pair have finally returned. They are working hard to rebuild the nest that was removed by workers. They are actively bringing in branches and sticks.
Still nothing visible on the cell tower. There do not appear to be any osprey flying nearby or sitting in trees. Hopefully, they're just late arriving.
Nothing yet, not even any osprey in the area. Last year they seemed to be late in building a nest so I'll watch closely and see if they can be earlier birds this year.
Still no adults visible despite frequent observations of the nest. It seems shallow and in disarray. They may be still around but it seems ulikely. This nesting site may have been abandoned.
The adults are diligently trying to create a new nest after the last one was wiped clean by work crews. The cell tower personnel do not want a new nest there and are actively cleaning up behind the pair trying to regenerate a nest. Classic human/nature battle ensues.
Just saw this nest today and realized it was not reported. Most of the information is unknown to me but I did see one chick standing on the side of the nest. It is unknown if there are more.
