One sitting in nest, incubating. Can't tell sex. Nest looks good... monk parakeet underneath it and two little brown birds (house wrens?) moving sticks around underneath too.
Female perched in nest calling to male, who flew up and landed on her back then jumped into nest. He shortly flew away again. Nest is in good condition.
Male was seen perched in the nest, while the female was seen above the nest perched on one of the individual lamp posts. Small birds were seen hanging around the nest, but the ospreys don't seem to mind.
Pair was again both spotted inside the nest, feeding hatchlings. The other nest #1214 is effectively gone, and the pair seems pretty content in their choice.
Nest has been expanded to, very large nest. Female can be seen sitting in the nest, top of her head visible. Male was also in the nest, visible only when he stood up to strech his wings.
No ospreys seen in the nest, however the male was seen perched nearby. Pair has definitely abandoned the other Skyway Plaza nest #1214 in favor of this one.
Pair of adults spotted at nest, both reaching their heads into the nest, possible hatchling behavior? Nest has been added to since last observation period.
A single female osprey was seen sitting in the nest. The nest seemed to be in very good condition with a lot of nesting materials. The male osprey was perched on top of the light post over the female.
Today I observed the female osprey fly into the nest. There were (3) juvenile ospreys sitting up in the nest. Minutes later, Female flew out of the nest.
Today I observed a male osprey and juvenile fly into nest. Juvenile was holding fish in his mouth. Male then flew off and perched on store awning across parking lot.
Today I saw a female sitting up in nest with juvenile beside her. Juvenile seeme to be cleaning their feathers. Male spotted perched on store awning across parking lot.
Today I observed an osprey sitting in the nest. Another osprey perched across parking lot on a pole. Could not idenitify sex. Nest definitly grew in size.
Found the nest for the first time today. Smaller nest located on top of parking lot light pole, quite low to the ground. Nest seemed very old. No sign of Osprey.
Today was the first time I found the nest. The nest looks much smaller than the other nests that we have seen today. There was no sign of an osprey in the nest or nearby.
When we first arrived the female was just outside the nest on the end of the light pole. A male sat across from the female on a nearby light post possibly keeping guard. He appeared to have a half eaten fish under one of his talons.
