Male and Female seem determined to inhabit this nest, despite its awkward and noisy location. Female was observed perched above nest, while male was seen overhead and chirping to the female.
First observation of either osprey perched physically inside the nest instead of around it, by the female. Male was again perched on top, and both seemed content with the arrangement. The nest remains large and well built, with rope thoroughly interwoven into it.
Nest is large and rope seems to b thoroughly woven in. Both female and male were sighted staying close to the nest, both stayed with the nest for the duration of the visit.
Large piece of rope can be seen tangled in the nest. Pair of osprey was spotted in the area, the smaller of the two (male?) seen perched directly above the nest. Female was sighted flying off to another nearby light pole.
No sign of hatchlings or behavior indicating chicks, however the nest is actively occupied by an adult pair, both relatively small. Both were seen perched nearby the nest.
Nest is still extremely large and strings continue to hang down. Both a male and female are present perched next to the nest. Nether osprey appears very large. Male remained perched by the nest for durArion of watch time where female flew off after about ten minutes.
Nest is present. Nest is very large and is still very well maintained. No osprey present in nest, but did notice an osprey leaving the nest while I was there. Unable to determine sex.
Nest is large and actively maintained. Both adult male and female osprey present in the nest. Both flew up together when we arrived with sticks in their feet for possible nest materials.
One osprey of unknown gender on light near nest, One male on sailboat in area, One osprey of unknown gender flying over sailboats and one unknown just outside the area responding to male on sailboat
Today I observed a male osprey perched above nest on light structure. No sign on female osprey. Note: could not get close to nest/field, road blocked due to contruction.
Today I found the nest for the first time this season. The nest looked large and easily sighted. There was no sign of an osprey in the nest or around the area. The weather was overcast- maybe that has something to do with it.
First time finding this nest this season. Was able to spot the nest no problem. No sign of Osprey in this area. Very large nest, looked like it could be deserted.
(overcast, colder weather)
We found this nest much easier than the first time we looked for it. Still haven't seen any osprey in the area so I think it is a safe bet that this nest is abandoned as well. Unfortunately all three of my nests are now vacant.
It was difficult to see/find the nest at first but after about 5 minutes of searching, we found the nest. The nest is surprisingly small for an osprey nest. Unfortunately we didn't see any.
